Any way to split a .wav or mp3?

I have a copy of a friends concert in mp3 format, it is to big to fit on 1 cd. Also of course it is just one long track. Is there any way to split the track in half, or by song?

I've done that in Cool Edit Pro and I think CDex can do it, but I've never tried.

cd wave editor is a freeware program. you'd have to convert your mp3 to wav and then you can chop it up with this program. it'll also save the cuts into a .cue (index) file to burn in nero or cdrwin.
i do it all the time with those long dj sets of oakenfold and paulvan dyk.

I use Audacity to do most of my audio editing:

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Best of all, it is released under the GPL.

You can also save the stream as WAV, Mp3, or OGG, I believe.
