Internet Explorer won't open

Can't seem to get Internet Explorer to open. When I try all I get is a "send error report" message. Any suggestions.

I imagine you could go to www.microsoft.com/ie with the computer you're using now and download the newest version or patches.

If the bad IE is on your current computer and you're using a different browser it will be very straightforward. If you're using a different computer you'll need to download the install and then move it to the bad computer and run it from there.

What you download depends on what you already have. There's an IE6 service pack 1 linked on that page. That would be good if you're already running IE6.

I added the IE6 and it still won't open. I'm going home now and will shut down for 12 hours. I've found the old "turn it off and turn it on" method to work 50% of the time. So we'll see if there's any improvement in the morning.

Thanks.

Use Firebird

http://www.mozilla.org/

If you can't download via the above URL, use an FTP program to get it:

ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.or...-0.7-win32.zip

If you love firebird, check this nice little baby out:

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.o...ebirdSetup.exe

It's the latest Firebird build with a built-in installer. It's version 0.8 and it is amazing. Just upgraded for 0.7 and it seems much faster and just zooms along.

I thought about trying that, but didn't know how much of a "beta" it was and how stable it was. Will all of the extensions written for 0.7 work for 0.8 as well? *sorry for the OT Pants*

Which OS are you running? Did you try to add and remove it from add/remove windows components?

The only extension I use is TabBrowser, which I had to reinstall (since I had to create a new profile since the skin for the old one didn't work), but it works perfectly.

Cool. I have a few extensions(TBP, sessionsaver,all-in-one gestures, and miniT), which won't be a big deal to reinstall. I use Tabbrowser extensions for awhile, but it seemed a little bloated. A lot of the stuff I didn't even need. The extensions I have now pretty much replace TBE with only what I would use.

I've got a fair amount of cookie/image permissions I'll need to migrate. I'll probably end up waiting for the final release, which hopefully won't be too much longer. The honeymoon effect from 0.7 sill hasn't worn off
