How do you set up newsgroups through outlook express?

I have never done it, and I am clueless. Hard to believe I have been online over a decade and never tried. I did try recently, but nothing seemed to work?

Open Outlook express. If you go into tools, then accounts, click the news tab and either add or import. A wizard will pop up, try that. Hope I could help.

Btw, I think it is hilarious what they put on their product order page as an example screen shot: https://www.djii.com/cgi-bin/order.cgi?prod=0140605

Xnews is good too, plus it's free!

Newsbin and xnews are great for binary newsgroups since you can open mutiple server connections. If you just want to browse text groups use Free Agent.

This guide is the best place to start for anyone interested in newsgroups:

http://www.slyck.com/ng.php

It has very easy, step-by-step instructions including links/guides to newsgroup readers.

I agree with the posts above that Outlook Express is the worst tool to use for newsgroups. Free Agent is a good one for beginners. If you really get into binary groups, check out Newsbin.

Do you want to read newsgroups or are you looking for a binary downloader?

I'd suggest Grabit for a new user (www.shemes.com). It's free, easy to use, and very user friendly. Once you learn how to use it, you can move on to more advanced programs such as newsbin.
