Getting a weird pop-up from time to time

From time to time I get a new MS internet explorer window that opens to a gambling site. Why it is weird:

I have been using googles pop-up blocker for several months months and up untill a day or two hadn't gotten a single pop-up.
The window try to open even when I'm not on the net (and then just get the typical error, site not found)
Since I get even when not on the net, I figured I got spyware or something. But I have ran ad-aware and spybot and still get it.

Any suggestions or recommendations to get rid of it?

(Oh, running XP)

OK, I would suggest downloadingPestPatrol Even though it's commerical ware, you can do a free download to run a scan. See if it reports something that Ad-aware/Spybot might not.

Well that found several items. Including several things is called highjackers. So I went to ad-aware and updated it. Ran that and it found a bunch of things (not sure if the same things or not) and deleted them.

So hopefully that took care of that....thanks
