How does this sound so far.......

I am currently putting a computer together for the first time and here is what I have come up with so far. Let me know what you think? Honestly.

Case: Aspire Silver Turbo Server Case w/420 power supply.Model ATXA7AW-AL/420

Mobo: Abit 865 PE Model-AI7

Processor: Intel P4 2.8c With Hyper/Threading Tech. 800 FSB

I priced these all on newegg.com
If you have any suggestions please let me know. This will be my first time to assemble one.

Well, just make sure you get at least a Radeon 9700 Pro card. Get the fastest RAM you can afford (PC4200), and the P4 2.6C w/ HT to save a bit.

It's not a server case. It's a modified cheiftech/antec mid tower case. Although it sure looks like a full tower. I have 2 of the Antecs.

The PSU's a Turbolink. Rail ratings are

+3.3 = 28A
+5.0 = 40A
+12 = 18A

Compared to Antec True430's ratings, I say it's not bad at all.

+3.3 = 28A
+5.0 = 36A
+12 = 20A

_______________________________

P4 2.6C = $167
P4 2.8C = $196

They'll both get you to 3.0 if not 3.2, you do the math. Again, use the money for better RAM since you can only OC the FSB on P4 systems.

Excellent mobo btw. It's an OC monster w/ the right RAM.

Have you bought RAM yet? Holy shit, they have PC4400 now. Gonna cost you $210 for 512MB though. PC4200 will do. $135 for 512MB, $83.50 for 256MB. You'll need 2 sticks of either one to maximize the performance for dual channel.
