Porn link keeps popping up on my monitor! Help!

Okay...At first it was just happening when I was checking my email....I didn't open any Spam Mail, only mail from friends. But this porn pop up keeps hitting my screen when I press the "return" button when sending email.

Now, randomly while I am on DVDtalk, and a few other sites, it also pops up.

http://tgplist.us/

<---That is the URL, and when I typed it in just now, THE WINDOW POPPED UP AGAIN! How do I stop this?

Run adaware and a virus checker. Could be some sort of spyware or a trojan horse maybe. I don't know.

First thing: Spybot Search and Destroy. Install, run the updater built in, full scan. Takes an hour or two, but it's almost certain to find the problem.

Second: Ad Aware. Not quite as good as SB S&D, IMO, but still useful.

If popups happen when you're not doing web pages, you have some kind of ad ware running, and you need these to make sure it stops running. A suprising number of people install these things one way or another. Usually by mistake. Use Spybot's immunize feature once you've cleaned off the machine, and that will block a lot of stuff, then use the "Browser Helper" to help block even more bad things.

Agreed . . . the combination of these two will take care of most popups, etc.

Both ad-aware and spybot are freeware, though there is a paid version of ad-adware.
