Anyway to fool software that more Video RAM is installed

Just borrowed GTA: Vice City from a friend. Loved GTA3, ran beautifully on my laptop.
Dell Inspiron 5100
Pentium 4 - 2.6Ghz
256MB RAM
16MB ATi Mobility Radeon 7500

Vice City will not run without at least 32MB Video RAM.

Can't justify a video card upgrade just to play one game. Is there any software out there that can spoof more Video RAM on my system??

I could run this on my server PC (AMD AthlonXP 1.53, GeForce3 Ti200 128MB), but don't want to have to play it on the 14inch monitor I've got up there.

Any help?

There's a reason it won't play without at least 32 MB...you don't want to see what it would look like I'd just upgrade to a cheap-o 64 meg card.

I would upgrade, but this is a laptop. The video card is replaceable, but very expensive.

Could you even realistically get the vid card changed? How expensive are we talking about?

go to the dell inspiron hardware upgrade forum, there is ample discussions on what part number you will need, and the procedures involved. Cost of upgrade is around $100.00

p.s. I have upgraded cpu on several dell laptops with littl difficulty. There is extensive knowledge posted on the net on how to upgrade the dell laptops. Dell doesn't officialy support this tomfoolery, but it still manages to get done somehow, and using DELL parts to make it work.....
