DVD player won't show JPGs rotated by Windows XP

I have a DVD player (Toshiba) that will show most JPGs that are burned onto CDs. However, if I have JPGs that I have rotated using the XP viewer and then burned to CD, the player will not show these (it displays a triangle with an exclamation point in it instead). I can view these rotated JPGs just fine using XP or other viewers on the PC.

Any idea what is going on?

If the way XP writes out the rotated JPGs is the problem, is there a freeware program that will read these JPGs in and then write them back out so that they are formatted as the DVD player expects?

Thanks!
