Light on External Maxtor HD Blinks. Why?

I just installed a maxtor external 120 gig drive. Everything appears to be working fine, but the vertical blue light, on the one touch button, is blinking.

What does this mean? I cant find anything about it in the booklet-

????????

I don't know but you may find the answer on their website in the support section. I had a similar light question with a HP printer that wasn't in the book, but was on the site.
