Questions about hooking up my Asus A7N8X mobo..

I have EVERYTHING finally working except my Hard Drive LED light, and my front USB ports. I have the Asus A7N8X Deluxe mobo.

Here are the wires for both front USB ports..yet I have no clue where they go on the mobo! The directions don't tell me crap. Any ideas?

And I can't find out where the Hard Drive LED's go either..here is a pic of the three plugs...

Any ideas?

Here is the best picture I could find of my mobo..

I'd appreciate it if someone could "point" to where these are supposed to go.

Thanks again..tom

In the lower left hald corner of that image, there are some rows of pins lined up. Those are it. There are rather confusing pinouts on the board, but the manual has them as well. I have this motherboard as well.

The USB I never figured out either, but didn't really care. The HD light is actually above the other row of pins I believe. I can't quite remember hehe. Good luck!

BTW I hate these things, they are the devil.

Why are there 3 HD LED connectors? I've only seen 1 on the systems I've built...

The hard drive LED goes where it says "IDELED1". There may be support only for one. (I think that's so-- my HD LED goes to lights on my CPU Cooling fan). As for the USB, since you are unlucky enough to not have a solid connector, you will have to look at the voltages written on each wire and look at the voltages for the pins on the USB connector in the manual and match them up. If I were you, I'd just forget trying to get the front-panel USB ports built into your case to work (as I figure you are doing) and get a cheap internal media readers with USB that already have the "proper" USB internal cable. Something like this one. (I'm not connected with this auction, which is almost closed anyway, just showing an example) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=18872

Yet another reason to buy pre-built retail systems so you don't have to fry your brain trying to figure out these massively difficult tasks when building your own system.

i wouldn't go for a pre-built retail system like the ones at Frys with only a case mobo/cpu.

The only reason I'd ever buy a prebuilt system is to get the LCD.
