Getting rid of an IE favorite?

How do I get rid of an IE favorite I saved?

It keeps returning even after I have deleted the cookie and searched for and deleted every reference I can find?

Is it spyware? Most favorites (that aren't something M$ added) usually get removed when you select delete. Try running adaware or spybot if it won't just go away manually.

Are you actually deleting the favorite? Or just the cookie from the site?

If it is the links folder, you will probably have to set its attributes to hidden. Anything else is probably spyware.

From the drop down list at the top right click on the favorite you want to delete and choose delete.

Well, he said that it's a favorite that he saved so I don't think it's the Links folder. Whaddayathink?

As for the Links folder, you can take ike0000's advice and set the attributes to hidden and you won't see it again. I set it to hidden so that it won't show up in Favorites, but I use it on the toolbar (it shares the same row as the icons). Gives me instant access to about a dozen of my favorite favorite sites.

Well I am trying to delete the favorite from the list. I have also deleted the cookies. I have also gone into my profile (I am at work on a Windows 2000 professional network) and deleted the cookies. I have also searched for the url/cookie and deleted any and all references. I do not think it could be spyware given my network security but this damn thing still returns each and every day when I log back in.

I guess you could try exporting the correct list of URLs (after you've removed the annoying link) then try reimporting your favories to make sure there's nothing else weird going on.

no pc wiz here but anytime I want to delete a favorite I just click on the "organize favorites" tab, look for the one I want to delete, click on it so it's highlighted then push delete from the options.
