Stupid Question on Adobe Acrobat 5.0

Here's a question for you guys:

I scanned an 8.5x11 document and exported it to Acrobat 5.0. How do I go about reducing the file size of this thing? It's currently at 2MB right now. I kinda need it to be as small as possible. It's all just txt in grayscale, no color images or graphics or anything.

You probably scanned it as an image file. I believe you need to find a way to scan it as a document with an OCR.

If it's really just text, (black & white only), from Acrobat, Save As a .tif file. Open in your image editor of choice and convert it to a 1-bit image, then save as an .eps Use Distiller to create the .pdf. You'll probably want to have a look at the Job Options, but Screen is probably a good start towards making it very small.

If it's a grayscale image, from Acrobat, Save As an .eps or .ps file. Re-Distill it using different job options to make it smaller.
