Clear your cache? Click on tools --> internet options --> delete files --> ok

You know - I have the same problem. I can get to all those sites you mentioned, but I can't get to starwars.com for example. It just says "Cannot find server."

I've cleared temporary internet files, deleted cookies, flushed dns, and cleared the hosts file. Still doesn't work. I, too, would like to get this working.

try using this web based proxy server. It probably is just your internet provider...
Proxify

now that i think of it, there are some sites i can't get to and have to use something like this to access.

Hmm. That worked for starwars.com, but not one of the others that I can't get to. But, that's at least good to know about.

The weird thing is that I seem to be the only person with this problem. My roommate can get to starwars.com just fine. So can a girl down the hall. We're all on the school's network so that can't be the only problem.

Try going to the Ip addresses instead:

Ebay 66.135.192.88
Microsoft 207.46.134.189

If you can get to the IP then there is probably some DNS server down somewhere.
