120GB hard drive for $20 +tax AR at Circuit City

Circuit City has a Western Digital drive in OEM packaging for $140 less three $40 rebates.

http://www.circuitcity.com/detail.js...&catoid=-10263

You can pick it up in the store or order online for pickup. I don't think you can get the rebate forms online. The item doesn't show any rebates online but in the store it is labeled as $19.99 after rebate.

Great deal! Too bad I'd have to drive to another state to find a Circuit City.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot.

I'm also wondering about any more information on the rebates. How you get them and who's rebates they are.

I read that sometimes the rebates don't print for online orders. So if the rebates don't print out when you pick up your online order you should immediately return and repurchase the drive.

Here's the info on the rebates. Each is for $40.

Program No. YB273 requires rebate form, copy of receipt, and a copy of the UPC (valid on purchases 12/10/03 - 12/24/03, postmarked no later than 01/20/04).
Circuit City Rebates
P.O. Box 4624
Young America, MN 55558-4624

Program No. Y9980 requires rebate form, copy of receipt, and a copy of the UPC (valid on purchases 11/14/03 - 12/14/03, postmarked no later than 01/14/04).
Circuit City Rebates
P.O. Box 3140
Young America, MN 55558-3140

Program No. YB270 requires rebate form, copy of receipt, and a copy of the UPC (valid on purchases 12/10/03 - 12/24/03, postmarked no later than 01/24/04).
Circuit City Rebates
P.O. Box 4549
Young America, MN 55558-4549

Here's a PDF of them

I got in on this one on Wednesday night, got the last one on the shelf.

Oops, wrong deal. I'm now mad because I was at Circuit City on Thursday night (unaware of this new bargain) and saw these drives (in the red/white packaging), but the tags were not updated, and they had the old $149.99 price on them, so I ignored them. Then I go back this morning and, of course, they are all gone. Grr...

Can't order it online anymore. Supposedly it is in stock at my local CC.
Hopefully it still is when I get there.

This rebate didn't print at the register for me. I got the other two, which matches the information on the shelf card.

Yeah, me too.

I read that they will be posting the rebates on their website within a couple of days. I would just hold on to the drive and not open it until this gets resolved.

BTW, the warranty on the drive should be 3 years even though the packaging says 1 year. Western Digital's serial number lookup shows that.

Well, I saw this post and rushed right down to CC. They had the drive, but the details were different: Cost of drive was $129.99 with two rebates totalling $70. So the cost of the drive is $59.99 (before tax). I figured that was still a heck of a deal and got it, hoping that, as X mentions above, there might be more later.

A 120Gig WD drive for 60 bucks is still worth dancing about!!

Sounds like you got the wrong version.

The drive that has the really good deal was a non-branded Western Digital. Not their normal one in the blue and white packaging.

You're right. I noticed that after I re-checked your earlier link. But, they were out of the other one, and I still got what I consider a good deal

Yeah, I'm resigned to know I missed out on the $20 120GB HD, but I'll be jumping on another $60 120GB HD at Office Max on Sunday.

You haven't necessarily missed out.

I hear you can special order it at the store and pay for it when you order it. The sales date will show as the date you paid and the rebates will print out on the spot.

They are supposed to have lots of them in the warehouses.
