Which port is better for mouse pointer?

I just recently got myself a Logitech MX500 mouse pointer and is running it with the current MouseWare 9.78 software in Windows 2000 Professional (Service Pack 4).

Only one thing: which port connection is better for the mouse? Logitech claims that the USB port connection allows for finer DPI control over the PS/2 port connection, though I don't see any differences between the two using the 17" LCD monitor on my system.

USB offers a faster sampling rate versus PS/2. Unless you are really into gaming, it's a little more difficult to detect the differences.

Like UWSarge said, I doubt you'll notice the difference unless you need pinpoint accuracy for some shooting game.

I like to plug my mouse pointerers and keyboard alphabets and numbers entry devices in the USB ports of my computer CPU box because it gets the job done and well.
