configuring outlook with hotmail?

I'm tired of MS changing their hotmail website, so would like to configure outlook for my email interface to my hotmail account.
how do i do that?
i have it set up as follows:

POP3 server
incoming mail : www.hotmail.com
outgoing mail: www.hotmail.com

account name: My username
passwd: My passwd
Log on using Secure Password Authentication - checked

when i try to check for new mail i get the following:

unable to connect to the server (Account: 'www.hotmail.com',POP3 Server:....

any ideas?

I think you need to configure it specifically as a Hotmail account, not a POP3 server. They wired that in. Check the choices of what type of account again.

X is right.

If you are using Outlook XP or above you can configure it using HOTMAIL, else you cannot.

But I think Outlook Express 5.x and above supports it.

Like others have said, i believe outlook XP is the first version to support Hotmail while Outlook Express has supported it for quite some time. There is an option to set up a new account as HTTP versus POP3

Yeah, it's an HTTP server, not a POP3 server.

When you create the Mail account, you type in your name, then your Hotmail address, then it should automatically select the Hotmail HTTP server for you. Assuming, as many have already said, that you're using Outlook Express or Outlook XP (or higher).

only 2 options shows up - POP3 and 1 other one.

i am running xp professional, but installed outlook from a separate cd - office 2000.
