Problem with SONY DRU-510A Drive!!

Ok,

Hooked it up in my DELL P3 450
(Modded to a Celeron 1.3 Ghz)

The drive is being recognized in my computer, but it won't play any CD's, or the Software disc that came with it

It will list the name off the Sony CD that camew ith it, but will not open or let me "Explore" the drive

When I "explore" the drive, it just sends me to the desktop

Any ideas?

??

Help!

Oh and in the "My Computer" Screen it is listed as "CD Drive (E)"

(It replaced my CD-RW (E) that was in there)

But in Device manager the exact name comes up "Sony DRU 510A"

OK--

UPDATE

I used Ulead DVD Picture Show to burn a DVD-RW

It reconzed the drive and burned the DVD-R OK

AND , NOW the drive suddenly is recognized in "MY COMPUTER" as DVD-R Drive

New problem --

The DVD-RW I burned, (and it said it was created succesfully)

The DVD-RW disc wont play in my standalone player.

Any ideas?

It's a Sony DVD-RW and JVC XV-523

DVD-R's and DVD-RW's should work in most Stand Alone Players? Right???

It is NOT being recognized in my DVD Drive on my computer either!

Try using DVD-R. they're more compatible than DVD-RW

The problem is with your DVD player - DVD-R seems to be your best bet - see below for compatability info on it.

Thanks for the info Mr. Music!

What do you make about the DVD-RW not being recognized in my DVD-ROM drive?

Maybe a bad DVD-RW?

It's a Sony DVD-RW 4.7 GB Version 1.1
