Need help with a project (dvd and computer related)

I just got an Apple powerbook and I am trying to finish a project that I have for school. (I started school last week). I am doing a speech about the differences between widescreen, pan&scan, and open-matte and I need help getting scenes onto a dvd. I am not trying to copy movies onto a dvd, just scenes. Does anyone have advice for me. I own the dvds that I want to take the scenes from.

Nope, to be able to excersize your fair use right of review you would have to circumvent the CSS protection and therefore violate the DMCA.
What I did was copy the scenes I needed to VHS from my DVD player.
This was back before I had a DVD burner so I would pro'lly do it differently now.
Anyways, the bottom line is that you can't use your Fair Use rights without violating the DMCA.

well with Powerdvd you can do screen captures but if you need video I don't know of any thing but there is a great example of the difference between pan&scam and widescreen on Diehard 3
