Just bought the Pioneer DVRA05 opinions?

Okay, so I bought it from Newegg..heres what im wondering..

I checked the compatability of my old Sony player (dvp-s330) and it says that it should play -R just fine, since -R is more designed for older players, and it says it will play +R as well, but will all newer drives play -R as well as +R or just +R.

For example i have an old drive that will play -R but my mom has a newer drive (forgot which one) which most likely will play +R but im wondering about -R....

Anyway, the reviews for thsi drive all seem positive..

Any new drives should read -R just fine. DVD-R is the most compatible recordable format out there.
