Question About Microsoft Promo DVD With BMW Films

Ok, my roomate received a Windows XP promo DVD the other day (we both have licensed versions of XP anyway), and the disc contains high definition transfers of three of the BMW films. The problem is that I have a DVD-ROM, but my processor is not fast enough (hangs every second). Also, my roomate's rig is fast enough to play it, but he does not have a DVD-ROM. The disc allows one to copy the files to the hard drive for better playback, so I did that and burned it to a CD-RW and tried it on his PC. However, when trying to play the files, Media Player gives a license error. My question is: can we play these HD files on his PC without having to remove my DVD-ROM and installing it in his PC?

If your computers are networked you could try mapping your DVD ROM drive on his computer.
