Where can I get MS Access w/o Office

I was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere I can get MS access as a stand alone product. Possibly for cheap or even
if there was a watered down free version.
All I have seen is it sold for 300 and change,
or 200 for the full office pacage at the college
websites. I just need it to link to DBs for Visual basic.
Thanks.

from looking at MS product catalog... it does not look like you can purchase access standalone...

maybe you might wanna buy an older version (just make sure it's compatible). office '97 should be dirt cheap.

Microsoft Access 2002 at Amazon for $274 (after $20 Amazon Mail-In Rebate)

Microsoft Access 2002 Upgrade at Amazon for $82 (after $20 Amazon Mail-In Rebate)

If you're a student and have a valid student ID, you'll probably get a better price at a site that specializes in academic discounts for software—assuming they sell Microsoft Access as a standalone product.
