has my system been hacked?

My computer was recently infected with three different viruses. After cleaning up the mess I found an ftp folder in my network connections folder. There's a whole bunch of files in there that I have no idea where they came from. Does this mean someone is using my broadband connection to host files on the internet? What can I do to stop this ftp server? I have enabled the Windows XP firewall, but I want this ftp shut down and the files removed from my hard drive. It won't let me delete the files as it says I don't have permission to. If anyone can offer some advice on this I would greatly appreciate it.

If its in your Network Connections folder (and it wont let you delete anything (permissions)), then it is only a shortcut to the ftp on the internet.

You should be able to just delete that shortcut/folder.
