Wanna compare dl/ul speeds?

I'm pretty excited to finally have a cable modem and am curious what speeds others are getting.

I just got 3124(down)/117(up) kbps using the following since I'm in Indiana:

** Speed 1171(down)/326(up) kbps **

Sucks since I downgraded from the 6000 kbps download speed. But then it costs over $100/mo. less now too.

I use my apartment buildings T1 line. I honestly don't think many others in this building use it hehe, cuz it's never bogged down on me before. Well not a lot at least.

Mine is insightbb.com and the upload is capped at 128 but the download is great for the $$$.

I had Starband satellite internet before this and was lucky to get 500 down for $20 more per month.

I'm in a pretty small town in Indiana so there's hope for most others.

Well, this is the campus network, so what would you call it? But earlier this week, it was dreadfully slow, b/c of off-campus users were stealing bandwidth, but comp. services put in a new firewall and things have been pretty fast. I do think it really is cable, since our provider is Cox Comm.

It is probably cable or dsl since the speeds are so asymmetric.
I pulled up my work pc (which is on a T1) and it was like 1300/1400 (rounded, since I couldn't copy & paste).
My cable modem:
** Speed 1434(down)/117(up) kbps **
(At least 28 times faster than a 56k modem)

** Speed 1720(down)/167(up) kbps **

And they said I had 256 up

I can upgrade to 768 up if I shell out another $50 a month, I think I will pass.

Yup. Not a T1, otherwise you would max out @ 1.5Mbps up/down.

Damn kids keep sharing their files.

It is pretty various.

What's the max speed DSL can have? I am pretty sure that this is set up through cable, because there is a built in modem in the wall for the TV cable and net cable.

I know they have 7Mbps ADSL but costly. I don't think that's the max though.
