Looking for free fonts.

Lookinf for free fonts.

Can anyone recommend a good website wehre i could find some fonts to d/l? And after i download them, exactly how can i save them so that they don't disappear from Word and my font registry every time i restart my PC?

As for installing, I'm not sure what you're currently doing, but...

What I do is this: I unzip the file, then I copy the actual font (the file(s) should end in .ttf) to my Fonts directory. It should be somewhere in your Windows directory. I usually have to highlight the file, copy it, then go to the Fonts directory and paste it. For some reason drag and drop doesn't work with the fonts for me (I'm using Windows 98SE).

Although DRG's method should work fine, you really should 'install' the fonts. To do this, extract all your downloaded fonts to a temp folder, open Control Panel>Fonts, go to File>Install New Fonts, browse to the temp folder with all the fonts, select them all in the list (it may take a few seconds for them to show up in the list), check the box that says "Copy fonts to font folder", and hit OK. You can then delete the temp folder. This procedure assumes Win9x as the OS, but should be similar for newer versions of Windows.
