How is one's "participation level" score changed in Kazaa Lite?

Here's a stupid question that doesn't really have any relevance.

In Kazaa Lite, under the traffic tab, it displays the user's participation level score. How does this score change?

I've noticed that sometimes when I leave Kazaa on overnight, in the morning, my score is well over 100. But, I'll shut it down, and open it a while later and the score will have dropped down to 70 or so. Give it some more time, and it will drop to the 30's.

This doesn't seem to make any difference in the performance of the program, so what's the deal with that?

The more you share, the higher it is. If you're curious how to crack the scoring (which X, I have every reason to believe is a legal activity) do a search on KaZaa for "KaZaa hack" "KaZaa participation hack" or something like that.

It is pretty meaningless, since it is not like you can block anyone on the KaZaa network who is leeching.

Throw a couple small porn files in your shared directory and go to work, when you get home you will have the max of 1000 and be a Kazaa Lite god.

Its a ratio of uploaded bytes to downloaded bytes.

The higher your rating the more priority you get when waiting in a queue to download a file.

Wow, I didn't realize it actually did anything.

Must be hacked in my version. I"m a supreme being (1000 rating) and I download more than I upload. I HAVE to, as my downstream is 768kbs and my upstream only 128kbs.

That must be it! Thank you. I have a lot of cartoons on my HD I've noticed that a lot of people will abort uploads, but my score still went up, even though hardly any of them ever finished.

Thank you. Now I can sleep at night.
