Are there External DVD-Burners?

Do they make USB 2.0 or firewire external DVD burners...if so, any suggestions?

Yup, I have the sony dru-500a external equivelant to the internal one. It's rather nice. Has both firewire and usb 2 connections.
So far, I like it.
Got it as a gift, I'm guessing Best Buy, cuz my family really doesn't do much online shopping.

I'm planning to get the internal version of the DRU500. Have you tried using the RW media? If yes, how's the reliability?

chanster,
Model # DRX-500UL

zuffy,
I haven't really tried too much with RW, + or -, I did record a disc on RW a few times, and things worked out fine. So far, nothing has gone wrong...knock on wood...I've had it since Christmas.

Thanks Neitzl. I guess I will find out when I get the drive. I'm planning to archive my pics in R, and possibly use the RW backup my existing pics that's not ready for permanent archive yet.

I know some of the Sony ones, possibly the ones already mentioned will do + and - for both R and RW
that's a big plus
