Booting to DOS w/o Floppy

Hey there. I tried finding some way to make a bootable CD and found this:

http://www.nu2.nu/bootcd/

But it didn't work. I was wondering if anyone had any good bootable CD instructions that work that would allow me to boot to DOS so I can FDISK a new Hard Drive I have.

I can only format w/NTFS through XP and the Max-Blast software on the CD they gave me isn't bootable (you have to use the floppy to boot and then use the CD) and I have no floppy drive.

Any suggestions? THANKS!

Some more info - I'm running XP and I tried booting with the XP install disk, but you can't get to DOS with it. I have a Win2k disc I could try booting with, but not sure if that will work. I need to format this disc soon and copy over the contents of my current disc because I think it's going to die quite soon.

What I do is make a Windows 98 bootdisk. Using Nero, I select the bootable CD option. It will emulate whatever is in the floppy disk. Also, I have copy of the DOS version of Partition Magic and Ghost.

If you have Ghost you can make a bootable CD.

Since the floppy doesn't work, I can't make the bootable CD with Nero. I'll look for a trial version of Ghost or something...

I don't know for sure, I haven't tried this. But can you download a boot image from http://www.bootdisk.com and use that for Nero instead an actual floppy? I believe Ghost lets you replace its built-in PC-DOS with another flavor that way.

Do you have a Win98 CD? You can boot off it and exit to DOS before you tell it to start the install.

How about the trial of Ghost?

I have a windows 2000 hack cd. It boots to linux, and hacks the Administrator password, but I guess that's not what your looking for.

On a side note, you could leave your current drive and add the new one as a secondary drive. You can format the secondary drive from within windows. Fat/Fat32/NTFS are the formating options within Windows 2000.

Yeah - unfortunately, XP only allows me to format NTFS and I want FAT32.

I tried that first option and the CD wouldn't boot for some reason. I'll try booting with a Win98 disk.
