Dell Inspiron

Ok, I've answered many a questions to users here perhaps you all can help me on this one.

My friend has a Dell Inspiron 2600 and would like to get a dvd/cdrw combo drive for it.

Now either Dell's website is pathetic or I am because darn it all, I can't find one. Please help me masses in finding a comb drive for this machine.

Thank You Much.

call them on the telephone and speak with a sales rep. they will find what you are looking for. dell has it, but it's just not on the website.

internal...externals are easy to find.

I find it odd that I'm on hold forever when I have tried calling these people...I'm trying to give them money and they don't seem to want it.

I guess I'll try again when I have an hour to kill at work. Like that happens frequently.

If someone does find one, thanks in advance.

I don't think so, I got a few Inspirons at the office and we cannot even share the batteries.Just can share the power adapter only. But the Lattitudes might differ

I want to give them money not tech supprt. jeeze. well anyway the salseman josh and I figured the dilema. aparently according to josh the 2600 has a fixed drive...hence it cant be easily changed....ahh ha!

well if this is true then any recomendations on an external cdrw/dvd combo?

Thank You for the research and assistance.

Get the Sony external DVD writer. You will not regret it.Here in Tokyo, the new Toshiba notebooks are being fitted with dvd-r/rw drivers! So dvd-r/rw is the way I would suggest you to go.
