Computer loading problems..

I would like some advice on what the heck is going on with my computer. This afternoon, it would not turn on. Checked all cables and still wouldn't startup. No lights blinking, no nothing. A few minutes later, when I would try to turn it on, my monitors' light would turn green (meaning it is getting info. from the tower). That would turn out to be a blink and it still wouldn't boot. So, after a while, if I kept my finger on the startup button, it would try to boot then go dead. A few times after that, it finally started up and we have had it on ever since (restarted twice via the Start menu). Seems to be working fine now, or at least what I am used to with this old comp (it is 3 years old running win98). Any suggestions on what the problem might be? I don't notice anything else that is having trouble. But I'm scared that once I shut it off and leave it off for a while, it won't boot. I don't really have the cash to get it fixed right now-- any suggestions?

Sounds like a Bad Power Supply. Get this fixed because if your fans fry you're screwed.
