Need Help/Advise about Mac Burner gift

I was going to buy my sis in law a cd burner but she has a older mac any suggestions on a decent burner thats mac compatible that wont break the bank doesnt have to be the fastest either.

You would have to be more specific than "older Mac". CD-RW compatibility is more a matter of connectivity than platform, and the model will indicate connectivity. Macs have utilized both IDE/ATA and SCSI for internal optical drives, and that plus Firewire and USB for external.
