Comp will not boot, but is fine after reset

Hi people, thanks for all the help you've contributed in my other problem I had a couple months ago. I have another weird one...it isn't actually all "that" bad but I fear it may be damaging to my system. I replaced the mainboard and processor on my computer (with the exact same ones thanks to the warranty).

When push power on my computer nothing comes on screen and the computer willl not even get to the BIOS. However when pushing the reset button the computer will then boot up normally with no problem every time. I have heard of someone else having this problem but I can't remember where I read it so I don't know what they did to fix it. Any suggestion are greatly appreciated!

System is a Dell, PIII 866 with Windows ME.

are you sure that whoever replaced the system board put the leads from the case buttons on correctly? i'd check that. if you have no diagram for reference and can't read the pinout on the motherboard, i'd be calling dell again.

cranky.
