I dropped a Maxtor 40gb that i have. I dropped it on hard carpet from about 3ft high. Ilanded in one of the corners. Now..., i happened to have 4000mp3s on that drive. Is there anyway i could get them back? I no longer have high speed access. Is there a hard disk recovery place for normal people, thats priced resonable? If not, o well.

O, i forgot to mention. The diks still spin, and nothing moves around inside, no lose parts. My comp recognizes it but cant read it. I had it as a slave.

Sounds like the heads are out of alignment, so it sounds like you're screwed.

There are services that can do data recovery, but they're very expensive.
