Anyone make a slot load CDRW?

I've got a Pioneer 106s slot load DVD drive and absolutely LOVE the ease of the slot load feature.

As per my subject, anyone know of a slot load CDRW drive?

Thanks,

Sonicflood

Short answer: No.

Long answer: I think a slot-load CDRW drive exists for the Mac, but I've not heard of anyone being able to use it for the PC, although I'd love to have one myself (slot-load CDRW, not Mac)

I too have the Pioneer slot load DVD drive. It would be nice to have a slot loaded CDRW also, but I believe mtucker is correct, they do not make one for the PC yet.

is there a reason why they don't make it? hmmm ....

I also have (and love) the Pioneer 106s DVD drive. I guess the tray is useful for making 3" CDs, but I've only made one of those in my lifetime, and that was over 3 years ago.

You can't use 3" CDs in slot loading drives, right?

I can't believe you guys are using caddyless optical drives. How do you protect your valuable disks?

You can get slot load cdrw's on apple computers, but not currently for a PC.

I have no idea why nobody makes them, because it is possible. I know Panasonic has made them for concept computers (I know they did one for HP for Comdex) so they can do it.
