Question about IDE ATA-133 controller cards

I recently purchased a 60GB HD for my PC, and realized that my motherboard doesn't support more than 32GB HD's.

The utility that comes with the HD won't work with my motherboard also.

Will an IDE controller help me get around this 32GB limitation, or will it still be dependant on the motherboard?
