Win98SE Error: SAVENOW caused.... MSHTML.dll

Visited a friend earlier and IE crashed once an hour or so with the following error:

SAVENOW caused an invalid page fault in
module MSHTML.DLL at 0167:7ae5c072.

Anyone familiar with this error? Is there an easy fix, or should I just delete and reinstall IE.

The system is running Win98SE. Like an idiot I forgot to check the version of IE running, but I think it's between 5 and 5.5. They haven't updated anything from when the computer was first purchased from Gateway two years ago(it's a PIII 450). Hopefully someone can help. Thanks.

Yeah, that's what I'll end up doing on their machine, but was just wondering if anyone knew what was causing that problem. It's the inner geek curiosity.... anyway, I'll go by tomorrow with IE 6.0 with the latest patches for them. Thanks.

For what its worth....

.... for reasons unbeknown to me, I had greater success in fixing a persistent error of this kind by doing a thorough scandisk (and then maybe a defrag) from Safe Mode. Admittedly it may just have been a coincidence!
