Who uses Quicken? Any good?

I was thinking about picking up the basic Quicken 2003 program. I only want to do my checking with it. What all does it do? Can you pay all utilities with it? Please give a rundown of what you can and can't do with it.

Thanks

I've used quicken for years, although not as diligent as I used to. I used to keep track of every purchase, put it in the appropriate category etc. I could track every penny from the point where I brought it in to where I spent it and what it did in between those 2 points. It can do just about anything you want it to, just depends on how much time you want to spend with it.

I agree with Dave99. I've used Quicken for years, but I mainly use the more basic functions: Checking, CC balances, stuff like that. It can do a lot more, like tracking investments and stuff, but I don't use it for that. But like everything, GI=GO (Garbage In = Garbage Out). It isn't going to be psychic and enter your transactions for you. But if you are well organized and diligent already, it is a useful tool.

my wife uses it constantly and takes advantage of most of the features
checkbooks are always 100% up to date.. she uses it along with BOA to setup online bill pay for all of our bills.. and all that kindof stuff..
its nice that most banks will give your account info in a downloadable quicken file that you can just import to compare with your totals.. and when tax time comes, you just push the info through to turbo tax and it only takes a minute to file.
