I refuse to be pushed around!

Folks, I wonder if you can help.
I have an IBM laptop and have always played my DVD's with the supplied DVD player (Mediamatics DVD Player). A while ago I picked up a DVD that tried to change my DVD software to PCFriendly. I managed to find a file on the actual DVD that was recognised by my Mediamatics DVD player software and the DVD played fine.

Now quite a few months on I am experiencing the same problem with another DVD and can't get the same to happen.
I really don't want to litter my Laptop with software that I am forced to install. It should be MY CHOICE!!!!

I have tried opening the .ifo file in Mediamatics but even thought it recognises the file it complains about it and doesn't run (though it does bring up the screen as it it were about to play.

I refuse to install PCFriendly.

Is there any way I can play this with my preferred software?
Of even with any software other than the one they are trying to force down my throat.

Thanks
Alec

Hmm... both my OEM player and PowerDVD never have problems playing a certain disc. The PC Friendly is usually just extras anyway...

Check the PC/Hardware forum.
