Tell me if I'm getting ripped off...

OK guys. I saw what I think is a pretty good deal on cyberpower pc. I have a few questions. Has anyone bought a pc through them? reliable? good support? Anyway, here's the setup. Be blunt and tell me what's crappy, what's good, if everything's compatible, and if it's a good price:

AMD CERTIFIED 350 WATT MED TOWER CASE 350 WATT
NEW AMD XP-1800+ [1.53 GHZ QUANTISPEED] 266 FSB CPU C-MX104
SHUTTLE AK31 V3.1 KT266A DDR 4X AGP MB (is this an ok stable motherboard?)
512 MB PC2100 DDR PC266 MEMORY
AMD CERTIFIED CPU FAN, HEATSINK AND 3 EXTRA FANS
MAXTOR 40 GB 7200 RPM ATA 133 HARD DRIVE
ATI RADEON 8500 LE 128 MB AGP DDR W/VIDEO OUT (I'm not that big of a gamer, more 2d processing/internet but still would like my games to look decent, would this be ok?)
16x DVD ROM
CREATIVE LABS SB LIVE VALUE 5.1
SPEAKERS
PCI 56K V.90 FAX MODEM/W VOICE
1.44 MB FLOPPY DR.
KEYBOARD
MOUSE
3 YEAR PARTS AND LABOR WARRANTY

Price: 580 + 59 shipping = 639 shipped

Help me out guys. Any bottlenecks in the system? Anything I can change around to give me significant boosts in performance without much difference in price? Thanks in advance.

That is a decent price for those components. You may want to change the sound card. The video card is good enough for what you need. Other things are just not specific enough.

Mouse?
Keyboard?
Speakers?

These components together can be worth $5 or $500, depending on what you're getting.

agent: yeah they didn't specify the mouse, keyboard, and speakers and I really don't care since I have all that stuff already. Just wanted to list it for comprehensiveness sake.

So why do you say the sound card isn't good enough ? I'll be outputting 5.1 to my system (I watch dvds on my comp ) and I currently have an OEM SB LIve Value on my comp and it works fine for me. Is there something I don't know?

gcribbs: You don't get an os but I already have xp so no problem. I looked on resellerratings.com and there was only one rating and iirc, it was positive.

it seems like a decent price. what you should do is to do a www.pricewatch.com search for all the components, and see what it adds up to. also, if you don't need a keyboard/mouse/sound card, ask them to quote you a price w/o them. it might be a few bucks cheaper

Its a very nice systems for the price.

A couple things that could be improved without breaking the bank, you could go with a 333DDR motherboard and PC2700 RAM. That hard drive is a bit on the small side too, for 20-30 bucks more you could double its capacity. But 40G isnt bad if you are trying to save some $$$.

d. pharted: Yeah I did do a search for those parts and they came out to around 540-550 before shipping so I think it's a pretty good deal.

kevlar: yeah i don't need that much hard drive space. i've had a 20 giger for about 2 years now and it's still not full.

about the mobo and ram, would the difference be huge? on this site, the upgrade to pc2700 ram would be 65 bucks alone and the mobo upgrade at least another 30.

NEW AMD XP-1800+ [1.53 GHZ QUANTISPEED] 266 FSB CPU C-MX104

512 MB PC2100 DDR PC266 MEMORY
AMD CERTIFIED CPU FAN, HEATSINK AND 3 EXTRA FANS
MAXTOR 40 GB 7200 RPM ATA 133 HARD DRIVE
GEFORCE 4 TI4200 128 MB DDR W/TV OUT
16x DVD ROM
CREATIVE LABS SB LIVE VALUE 5.1

Yeah I'll probably order it tomorrow. I'm about to go with the ti4200 but I play dvds more than games so I'm thinking the radeon 8500 would be better. I hate pc decisions, grrrr.

Man, if you have broadband and a p2p program like Kazaalite ... that 20 gigger looks awfully small .....

Of course, i'm only downloading ... ahhh ... ethical data.

I'll definitely let you guys know.

I'll hopefully play Warcraft III but I'll probably just end up playing RTCW.
