Anyone have a Dell Inspiron 4100? My battery won't charge

Hey all.

I got a new Dell Inspiron 4100, and my battery won't charge. Is there a special way to get it to charge? I tried leaving the AC plugged in when the comp is off, Standby mode, etc. Any help?

i've got the 4100 but haven't encountered that problem. Mine charges whether it is on, off, standby, etc. You might want to call up Dell on that issue.

No clue. . .is the power cord not making a connection somewhere? I had replacement cords 3 times on my old Dell because the wires underneath are massively cheap. Problem occurred right around the head of the cord. Try pressing the power cord at the head and see.

Try popping the battery out and and putting it back in. Also, check the little screws on the bottom of the laptop. If they aren't tight, the battery can lose contact inside, and won't charge (I've had that happen).
