New 19" monitor recommendations?

Well, I am trying to see if I can get one for around $200. I am looking into the KDS 19" monitor with a 3 year warranty from Wal-Mart for $170 and the 19" MAG @ $149.99 after a $50 MIR from BestBuy, but with just a 1-year warranty.

Both have a max 1600x1200 resolution at I believe 65Hz. I plan to run it at 1024 x 768, maybe a bit higher.

I am leaning towards the KDS, since I already have one 15" KDS, and it works like a dream.

I am plannning on using it for watching DVDs, playing video games, and doing spreadsheets and word processing.

I've seen the CTX brand at Newegg.com for (I think) $180 plus shipping, but I'd rather get it from a store around here.

Any advice would be appreciated.

personally I stick to viewsonics however if I had to get one I would go for the KDS because of the higher warranty. Mag offers a 1 year and KDS has a 3 year. this alone would scare me away from the MAG.

look online and see if anyone like cnet has any reviews on both of these.

Samsung 950p. I love mine and it's quite the best buy. Good luck.

Relax. The Mag 19" is fine. I got mine at BB (at 150 that is a good deal) and it has been more than fine. No Problemos and the resolution is real good.

Hmmm. I think I will get the KDS monitor, But if they're out, then the MAG monitor it is. I will also check the prices on Samsung.
Thanks for the help, everyone.

IMO the best advice I can give you is go to a store and look at the monitor. That is the only way to really see if you like the image quality of a monitor and chose the best one based on the price you are willing to pay.
