Need Advice for the last few componets for my PC!

hey guys, i would really appreciate some advice for the last few things im deciding on getting for my new pc. please help me out
heres the lineup so far:

general comments are good, for the places that i dont have a specific item, please give me a some good advice
umm also, i play alotta games, i have never overclocked before but i want to try it out with this system

(newegg prices)
CPU: Athlon 1800+ XP - Retail (should i go for OEM cause its alot cheaper?) $108
Mobo: MSI KT3 ULTRA (not ARU) $77
Case: I am not sure exactly what i want but i am leaning toward this cheap badboy: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?description=11-127-003,$24
whatcha guys think of that? better case suggestions?

heatsink: thermalright ax-7 $30, need a fan suggestion though, also if i am not going to be doing heavy duty oc'ing, do i need something this expensive?

artic silver thermal paste, though, someone must explain to me why i need that, ive never installed a cpu before, so that is the one area im pretty clueless in.

RAM: need DDR suggestions, links and prices are also good, looking for 256mb stick, maybe more if i feel up to spending more cash for 512

i have:
vid card - visiontek ti4200 - $179 (BB deal soon to be)
soundcard - sb live 5.1 (i might upgrade to a audigy - that 55 dollar deal looks might tempting, i dunno though)
hds,network card, modem,monitor,dvdrom,cdrw

i also need a suggestion for a Powersupply, i dont wanna spend a atricious amount, but i want a good PS, how much wattage do i need?

also, if there are better deals, since all of these are newegg prices, let me know!

thanks!

well if you want to o/c I would not get the MSI. I would get an abit kx7 or the new 333 epox board. And yes, if you want to o/c much you need to get that ax7 hsf. for a fan I suggest the Thermaltake volcano 7 adjustable fan. ordered mine from nexfan.com for $10. Also, for overclocking the place to NOT skimp out is the power supply. Get antec or sparkle 400W. you need a good one that will hold your 3.3, 5v and 12v rails steady when overclocking.

thermal paste helps transfer heat from cpu core to heat sink. using the AS3 may get you 1c or 2c cooler. A tube will last a long time.

DDR- get the good stuff, get samsung pc2700 best ram out there especially for overclocking.

for the vid card get the gainward 4200 for $148 from newegg (if you haven't got the one from BB yet)

case - black (bottom one) http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...ry=1502&DEPA=1 or (bottom one includes 400W antec PS) http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp
