CDR compatibility with DVD player question

Hey

I wanna burn some VCD's, but I'm not sure which type of CDR I should use for it to work in my standalone DVD player. Off the top of my head, I couldn't tell you what model # the DVD player is, but I know that it is a Sony.

Can somebody post a list of which CDR media seems to work with different models of DVD players?

Thanks
