Dumb Question: Auto-Hide Taskbar

I'm running XP: I like to autio-hide my taskbar and this was good until about a week ago. Now when I click "Auto-hide", it hides the taskbar and once i bring it back up by waving my mouse over it, it stays there and doesn't go back down. Can I fix this or am I stuck with a taskbar thats always there? Thank You

This isn't the usual or regular behavior of WindowsXP.. have you tried undoing the auto-hide option and redoing it?

I tried doing that... it doesn't work. I tried restarting and then it will work for awhile then all of a sudden stop auto-hiding,

It does this on mine also, but only sometimes. When the bar doesn't hide, I just click on the page somewhere and it (taskbar) goes away.
