I need to find a spindle of the cheap generic SILVER BACKED CDrs.

Any idea where I might be able to find these?

I got about 400 for essentially free at CompUsa. I think it was STI brand. 16x junkers that work fine but the silver is very easy to scratch off if you try.

Just make sure they aren't CompUSA brand. I just found out about 40 out of 50 of mine failed after 6 months (they were green 16x though).

Best Buy's Thursday ad had 100 pack of Imations for $4.99 after 20/20 rebates, but I'm not sure if they're silver (yet).

Yes, it does suck.

I'm not even sure the silver ones will work yet, they've tested them at vcdhelp, and say it pretty much depends on whether or not the player is feeling nice today.

It's a shame too, b/c the damn thing plays DVDs wonderfully./

Best Buy also has a spindle of 50 Pro-Media CD-Rs on sale right now for $2.99 after instant and mail-in rebates.
