Intervideo Win DVD region not taking, help?

Hi all,

I have intervideo windvd.

Every time i checked a different region in properties and hit apply it goes right back to region one.

I tried all regions and it won't take.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Deborah

Well, do you have your country set for the region you want on your computer? I dont have the card, but that matters with some programs and or hardware.. Like for instance, if you are in the US , set your computer up to be that you are in Australia.. then try and set the region to 4.. don't know if it will work, but you can try it

Yes, it's set for USA.

I tried checking off each one from 2-6 and when i hit apply it pops right back to region one.

I don't understand why it's not taking.

I never viewed a dvd from a different region ,maybe i'm doing something wrong.

I have a lite-on dvd rom LTD122 if that helps.

Thanks so much : >

Have you changed your region 5 or more times? You may have locked it to the fifth one you used -- region 1.

Your DVD-ROM is probably region-locked on you as well as your software player. You need to investigate making your DVD-ROM regionless. The WinDVD region part is easy.

The program may not be locked, but the DVD-ROM itself may be. Take a look at the thread I referenced. There should be a program in there that will let you know the status of your drive. Both the player and the drive get locked.
