Is the GeForce3 Ti200 a good graphics card?

I'm currently using an ATI All-in-Wonder 128 pro 32md card and I am looking to upgrade but I don't have lots of money. I'm wondering if the GeForce 3 Ti200 in the 64 or 128 meg variety is a good card and would offer a substantial improvement? I'm trying to be budget conscious, but at the same time I do want increased graphics performance, I just don't have $400 for a GeForce4.

its one of the better cards for the money right now.. and easily overclockable to 500
I just picked up one myself
for less money, you can get the geforce2 gts.. but you will be giving up some performance
in my opinion, the geforce3 ti200 is the best current value.. unless you an ati fan, then you can look for deals on the radeon 8500

in my opinion.. dont bother with the 128mb model.. very little can use the extra ram, so the benchmarks are very close to identical for the 64 and 128mb models

Any particular makers of Geforce3 cards I should stay away from? I see some good deals on Ebay, but some them I never heard of, like Robanton.com. There are quite a few of those.

yes I would stay away from all the geforce 3's on ebay and buy it from a place like newegg that will stand behind the product.

I would also look at the geforce4 4200 cards with 64 MB.

How much are you going to spend?

I watched the ebay prices.. and they seem to all go for more money, then you could get it from, buying from a real vender

check pricewatch.com

I'd like to spend no more than $150, if possible.

If you go to the overclocking section (it's on the list on the left side) of this site you should be able to find everything you need.

from techbargains today

Geforce4 Ti4200, Jun 3
Half the price of Ti4600 boards.. Buy.com is taking orders on the Pine Geforce4 Ti4200 64MB AGP DDR video card with TV and DVI out for only $170.95 - $15 coupon = $155.95.

Techreport reviews this chipset. Much cheaper than the higher end chips with just a little less performance.

I will vouch for the Geforce3 TI200 also

I have an MSI version and it has played everything so far.

I am not much of a gamer, but I have played Max Payne, FIFA 2002, NHL 2002, Black & White and a few other high res games at 1024x768 with no problems at all.

At one point I did have it overclocked to Geforce 3 TI500 specs, but really didn't need that much output so I lowered it back down to stock.

GAINWARD/CARDEXPERT GeForce 3 Ti200 64MB (NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti 200 GPU), Power Pack Golden Sample, ( 4ns. 64MB DDR. ). TV-Out.

for $120.00 shipped and included the ability to overclock to a guaranteed level built in to the drivers.

close to Ti500 speeds for the price of a Ti200.

Okay, I got a Visiontek. Can someone point me somewhere that gives instructions for overclocking it?

wow, prices are dropping quickly. i purchased a ti200 card from newegg for $114 less than 2 months ago. and already it's under $100.

when it comes to geforce3, the best to worst is:
geforce ti500
geforce3
geforce3 ti200
geforce3 mx ... (don't get any mx cards)

Not sure offhand where an article is, but you will need a program like NVMax or the like!

Also take a look over here at the video card section

Hmm, just curious...

I have Visiontek Geforce3 Ti500 video card...could I/should I be able to overclock this card any further or am I better off leaving it at default setting. The Ti500 is plenty fast enough for me, but I always like to push things to see how far they will go.
