AMD motherboard + CPU combo, will this work?

-ECS K7S5A SiS® 735 SOCKET A MOTHERBOARD - RETAIL

-CPU AMD|DURON 1.1GHz (200Mhz FSB) - w/Heatsink&Fan Retail box

-VISIONTEK Xtasy 5632 GEFORCE2 GTS-V 4X/2X 32MB DDR AGP

ATI OEM RADEON 7000 VE 32MB DDR W/TVATI RADEON 7000

This is the first computer I am putting together (well really just upgrading) so I want to make sure all these components are compatible and reliable.

Is there anything else I will need to get this system running? (I have an HD, PC100 mem, PSU)

It also states that this motherboard will support any AMD XP processor. Is this true? Later on will I be able to swap out this processor for an XP 1800+ without a problem?

Thanks for the help.

It turns out that the CPU/Heatsink is out of stock. Will any of the other Durons work, I notice they have:

AMD DURON 1.0 GHZ SOCKET A, 200FSB, PGA PROCESSOR $40

CPU AMD|DURON 1.1GHZ OEM $45

What the difference is between these 2 and which one will or will not work with my MB. What type of fan do I get? Do I need a heatsink also? Which products at newegg will do this?

both of those duron chips would work just fine. yes, you will need a heatsink/fan combo unless the duron is listed as "boxed" or "retail" (because "retail" means a fan is included) but I don't think most places sell durons that way these days. a heatsink will not be particularly expensive for a duron. to see what what fan/heatsink will work with your CPU and what power supply will work, go look at the AMD Configuration Inforation on AMD's website. K7S5A does in fact support higher end XP processors, so yes, once prices fall, you can swap in a newer processor with no problem.

I think that setup will work just fine. I've used the K7S5A with no problems whatsoever--just make sure to get a good power supply unit (PSU) that is listed on AMD's site. just because a PSU says "AMD approved" doesn't mean it's approved for your specific CPU. I'd get the GTS-V video card over the radeon, but that's mainly because I've used it with good results in the past. It's a great card for the money.
