Question about Start-Up Programs

I am running Windows XP and was trying to decrease my start-up time, and I notice that I have "Reboot" in my startup folder. Can I delete that file or is it necessary to have? Thanks

If you don't know what it's for then I would remove it. I've never seen anything called "reboot" in the startup group.

You might want to right click on your START button and "explore all users" and then go into programs -> startup and right click on the reboot icon and choose properties to see where the file itself lives (see what application put it there.) If it's something you dont' recognize, delete it.

You might also want to try and see what else is starting at startup by running START -> RUN -> MSCONFIG -> Startup tab. Look for things you don't recognize and remove them.
