Help with Foreign Video CD/ DVD

I got these movies from India that say they are DVD/ Video-CD's. They wont play on my DVD player. When I pop them in the computer I see five folders:
cdi
ext
Mpegav
Segment
Vcd

Can I get a computer program that will convert these to a format that I can play on my computer?

It's definately a VCD. I'm not sure why it won't play. I thought that anything that can play a VCD will play bith NTSC and PAL so you should be OK there if your TV plays both.

If you want to pley them on your computer you need DVD or VCD player software and either a regular CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM drive.

i think you need a DVD player on your computer for it to work, but you can try the following link to get a free trial of PowerDVD ...I opened a video from India on it, this program can open anything I've run into.

The reason it won't play on your standalone DVD player is because most Indian VCD's are cheap quality and probably CD-R discs. I know my brother DVD player wouldn't play half the Bollywood VCD's he has.
