anybody experienced with .cue files?

OK, my friend makes a monthly 75 minute DJ mix and emails me the mp3 as well as a .cue file for burning a CD with the track separations. I have used .cue files on .bin images, but never mp3s. What can I use to burn a CD? I have tried nero and fireburner, but they both crash. Exact Audio Copy will do a line by line analysis of the .cue, but gives me an error message when I try to burn. Has anyone had a similar problem? here is what one .cue looks like.

CDRWIN uses CUEs.

Sometimes CUEs will get corrupted. You may be able to repair them by copying the contents to a blank notepad TXT file and saving it as the same name. Also CUEs will look for the file names exactly as stated in the CUE file. So if the MP3 file names have changed then the CUE throws an error.

I think you need to edit the cue file. It says FILE "c:\audio to burn\"

but that isn't the directory you have, it was the directory made when the disc was.

Maybe make a file in the C directory called audio to burn, throw your bin and cue in there, and try that.

first, be sure to make a backup copy. then, just take out any reference to the directory. oh, and be sure to place the cue in the same directory as the files you're burning.

example:

FILE "DJ Dawn - January 2002.mp3" WAVE

thanks for the tips. EAC fixed all the file locations for me. I also made the .cues the exact same name and directory as their reference file if that made a difference.

the line:
FILE "c:\audio to burn\DJ Dawn - January 2002.mp3" WAVE

should it be WAVE or MP3?

I think I have some bad drivers, cause I can't burn with CDRWIN, fireburner, EAC, or nero. Any other programs that like .cue files?

I personally use fireburner. It allows you to just click on the .cue file and it will launch FB and start burning it for you.
